Having read your article regarding the objections to the planned development on the former health centre site in Pier Road, Tywyn, I must respond to the comments from Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd which appear to suggest the local objectors are in a minority. This is certainly not the case.

To say 86 per cent of people who attended their presentation were in favour of the development is simply not true. Whist we were there they had a questionnaire which, among many things, asked whether we approved of more social housing for Tywyn. Eighty-six per cent of respondents no doubt said yes. That does not mean 86 per cent of respondents agreed with the actual planned development on the former health centre site.

In fact many would not oppose social housing on that site. However, it must be in keeping with the neighbourhood, which this is clearly not!
