Madam,
I was hoping to attend the Cabinet meeting last week for the vote on the future of Bodlondeb Residential Care Home in Penparcau, Aberystwyth. I was going to speak out about its proposed closure which I am totally against. Unfortunately I was laid up in bed with another chest infection.
There are a couple of very important points that really do concern me. When the authority was closing down schools we built new ones. But, since being elected as a councillor back in 2002, it concerns me that over the last 15 years there has been little or no investment in any of our county’s care home provision. Also I believe that comments concerning room sizes within the reports are flawed as within the recommendations of CSSIW it does not relate to or affect old buildings but new builds only. Bodlondeb should remain open until a satisfactory solution is in place.
Yours etc,
Cllr Paul James, Ceredigion county councillor, Sulien ward, Llanbadarn Fawr.
