A LLANIDLOES Rotarian has received an award for his contribution to the club.
Mike Catley is pictured with club president Stephen Meyers who presented the Rotarian with a Paul Harris Award.
Mike is a committed Rotarian and the main influence behind ensuring every child locally receives a Dictionary4Life as they head up to secondary school.
The award is named after Paul Percy Harris, who was born in January 1868 in Wisconsin.
After secondary school, he attended the University of Vermont where he was expelled in 1886 for an incident involving a secret society.
The following year, Harris attended the Princeton University before moving to Chicago as an attorney.
It was in Chicago in 1905 that he founded Rotary International.
Although Harris died in 1947 his name lives on in an award which is presented to individuals in recognition of their high professional and personal standards.
