A FAMILY-run Llyn farm had a shock when one of its ewes gave birth to seven lambs.
The special delivery took place on the Meillionydd Farm at Rhiw, which is farmed by brothers Dei and Huw Thomas along with their sons Robat (right) and Gruffydd, when one of their ewes - a four-year-old Suffolk Crossed - gave birth to seven lambs which would have equalled the British record number of lambs born to one ewe.
Unfortunately, the last lamb died, but the remaining six along with their mother are all doing well.
Meillionydd is a Beef and sheep farm and they have 1,300 ewes curently which have given birth recently or are due to do so during the next few weeks, so like many other farms around Wales it’s a very busy place at the present time.
Last Saturday night this near record breaking equaller was overseen and assisted by night shepherd Ifan Jones AKA Ifan Tociau.
