When, how, the resident became the carer.
Have you ever had that moment when out of the blue someone reaches out to you, I had that special moment with Mary Owen a resident over 100 years old. I had not seen her for some time, having not been to work, for months, struggling with depression.
I went over to her on the landing looking down over Bodlondeb drive. I kneeled down, by her side we held hands, in Welsh she said “make sure you look after yourself”. She cared for me when I needed her support. This is why Bodlondeb is so important, to me and for many others, over the years. Let’s not forget, Cofiwch Bodlondeb, if, it is no longer a home from home, for the moment.
