SELFLESS staff at Barmouth’s GP surgery have ‘braved the shave’ to help those stricken with cancer.
On Monday, 21 November, Dr Su Hesketh, practice manager Sean Langridge and deputy manager Carys Greer (pictured) all had their hair shaved off for the Macmillan cancer care charity.
The shave, held in the surgery’s waiting room, was well attended and the team have already smashed their £500 target.
Dr Hesketh was willing to lose her locks for an “excellent cause”.
“We did it to raise awareness and money for Macmillan, and to remember all those we’ve lost to cancer, all those living and fighting cancer and those who will be touched by cancer in years to come,” she said.
“We’re still collecting via Barmouth surgery and also online via Macmillan ‘Brave the Shave - Su Hesketh’. We’re grateful for any further donations.
“Dig out all that spare change. I know it’s nearly Christmas and you’re saving for the big day, but cancer doesn’t choose when it arrives!”
