ABERYSTWYTH Town Council is to hand out 20,000 stickers in an attempt to stop people feeding gulls.
The town council has moved forward with a plan to buy 20,000 stickers to give out to seaside businesses to encourage tourists and residents not to feed the seagulls.
At a meeting last month members backed a scheme proposed by Cllr Brendan Somers in a bid to “raise awareness and discourage people from feeding seagulls” on Aberystwyth prom.
Cllr Somers said he had investigated the cost and 20,000 stickers to give out to food outlets on the prom would cost around £380.
A meeting on 24 May heard that the stickers had been sourced by the council at a cheaper price, and the plan was ready to move forward in time for the summer season.
The stickers will be bilingual with Welsh first, the meeting heard, and will be handed out as soon as possible.
