The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for Wales this weekend and says very strong winds may bring disruption to parts of the country.

Forecasters are warning the severe weather will cause delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.

The coast of Wales will be “affected by spray and/or large waves”, according to the yellow warning, and there is a chance that some roads and bridges could close.

The Met Office warning, which has been issued for the whole of the UK for this Saturday and Sunday, also states: “There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage, and of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.”
