ABERYSTWYTH students having a ‘ruff’ time over the exam period were given the chance to “pet, play and cuddle” their way through the stress.

Aberystwyth Students’ Union teamed up with Alpet Poundies Rescue, Llandysul, to bring some much-needed joy to students revising for their exams.

The Paws for Thought event took place at Aberystwyth Students’ Union Picturehouse on Wednesday, 18 January, where students were spoilt for choice with pooches to pet.

Speaking ahead of the event, an Aberystwyth SU spokesperson said: “Aber SU are proud to be hosting a visit from Alpet Poundies Rescue, who will be bringing some of their rescue dogs along for the day so that you can pet, play and cuddle your way through the stress of the exam period. "All students and staff of Aberystwyth University are welcome to attend, we just ask that you kindly leave a small donation to Alpet Poundies on your way out as a thank you for their time and to help fund the amazing work that they do in rescuing and re-homing animals.

“We’re wagging our tails with excitement; we look paw-ward to seeing you there.”
