A LLANBEDR man, who was discovered hanging in a caravan by a teenager, had killed himself, a coroner ruled.
Kurt Anthony Scott died on 4 February at Gwerneinion farm where he lived in the caravan.
At an inquest held in Caernarfon, David Owen, who works on the farm, said he discovered the 33-year-old after he was alerted by a 16-year-old boy.
Mr Owen said: “It was just past 3pm and I heard someone crying very loudly. It was a young boy crying, who then beckoned me towards him and told me Kurt had hanged himself, and pointed towards his caravan.”
Pathologist Dr Mark Lord told the inquest that during a post-mortem carried out on Mr Scott he discovered there was 288mg of alcohol in his blood, which is three times over the legal limit to drive.
He determined that the cause of death was due to asphyxia.
North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard-Jones said he was satisfied with the cause of death, but was unable to reach a verdict on whether he intended to kill himself due to the high alcohol reading in his blood.
He said: “Kurt had been drinking that day and notes were found nearby which shows that he did intend to kill himself.
“However, in these types of cases I have to raise the question of whether he did intend to kill himself.
“Perhaps he was so intoxicated he couldn’t have made the decision to kill himself.
“I will avoid making a find of intention, but I will make a finding of fact that he did kill himself.”
