A recreation of the Old Llithfaen Surgery has officially been opened by Dr Eilir Hughes and Huw Jones, chairman of Nant Gwrtheyrn Trust.
The centre, which can be found at the National Welsh Language and Heritage Centre on the Llyn, is a recreation of Llithfaen’s iconic surgery in the Nant, where the dream of buying and reviving the old village was born, over half a century ago.
The Old Llithfaen Surgery was part of Dr Carl Clowes’ practice.
The doctor came to the area in 1970 from his specialist post at the Christie Hospital, Manchester, to run Llanaelhaearn surgery on his own.
He also opened a dedicated centre at the Nant which would create employment for local people and provide a much-needed boost for the Welsh language.
The recreation of it was officially opened on Friday, 3 September.
