A Ceredigion football team is planning to cover 1,000 miles in self isolation to raise money for our NHS heroes.

Players from Tregaron Turfs FC will over the next few weeks run a total of 1,000 miles to raise money for the NHS.

Both the men’s and women’s teams are looking to cover the distance.

The teams will be keeping track of progress on the Strava app and keeping to government guidelines to stay safe.

A spokesperson for Turfs said: “Tregaron Football Club is made up of many different people, but the one thing makes us united is our love for our town.

“Tregaron means so much to all of us so we wanted to find a way to support our local hospital, surgery, care centre and district nurses so they can carry on supporting and caring for those who need it most in this worrying time.

“We as a team are used to exercising regularly together so the best way for us to raise money was to combine fitness with our wanting to support those who look after our community!

“So we are running 1,000 miles in 30 days to give back to our local heroes.

“Both our women’s and men’s team are taking on this challenge and all contributing to the 1,000 miles, tracking their daily runs using Strava so no mile is uncounted for.

“If you would like to donate to our cause we would appreciate any donation as we know this is a hard time for all.

The team has already raised over £1,000 and hope to raise that total over the coming weeks.

Money raised will go towards Tregaron hospital, surgery, district nurses and the Bryntirion centre.
