A CHARITABLE team from Dolgellau have taken part in a Memory Walk to raise funds and awareness for people suffering with dementia.
Meirwen Owen and her team travelled to Aberystwyth on Sunday, 4 September to take part in the walk along with more than 100,000 people across the UK.
Every year, 225,000 people are diagnosed with dementia and the four-mile trek is intended to offer those affected support, both financially and emotionally.
The walk held a special significance for Meirwen though.
She said: “I live in Dolgellau and did this walk on Sunday morning with three friends from Dolgellau and a seven year old girl.
“We were walking to get some money for research into this cruel disease and for everyone who is suffering from dementia - but also for my husband who has Lewy Body Dementia and the Alzheimer’s Association do help me because there is no-one local for Lewy Body.
“Could I say thank you to those kind people who have sponsored me already and mention that I’m still collecting?
“A big, big thank you to the rest of ‘Team Eifion’ for their support too!”
