A FOOTBALL-MAD schoolgirl from Newcastle Emlyn has won a signed pair of Joe Allen boots and a signed Stoke shirt.

Saran Lili Jones took part in a competition launched as part of the Blwyddyn Joe programme on BBC Radio Cymru.

In the programme, Owain Tudur Jones interviewed the player about his amazing year in 2016. Both looked back at the success of Wales at the Euros, and Joe spoke about leaving Liverpool, moving to Stoke and scoring his first goal for Wales.

Radio Cymru asked listeners to answer a question – against which country did Joe score his first goal for Wales? The correct answer was Moldova.

Fourteen-year-old Saran not only plays football, but went over to support Wales in the Euro games.
