AN Aberdyfi teenager with cerebral palsy is to cycle nearly 40 miles to raise money for his school.
Mackenzie Beeson, 17, has set himself the personal challenge of cycling from Newtown to Aberdyfi.
Mackenzie (pictured on his specialised trike) will set off from Newtown on the morning of Friday, 29 April and cycle the 39 miles home to raise funds for his school, Ysgol Cedewain.
Ysgol Cedewain is a large day special school in Newtown that caters for pupils from three to 19 years of age who experience a wide range of educational physical and sensory difficulties.
For the last 10 years Mackenzie has been travelling every day from Aberdyfi to Newtown to attend this school.
Mackenzie’s mother Ann said: “Mackenzie loves Ysgol Cedewain and is very happy there. He also loves sport, in particular football and cycling.
“Mackenzie’s father Shane, his brother Carrigan, 16, and I will of course be accompanying him along the route in a support vehicle.”
Mackenzie has a JustGiving page if anyone would like to donate – https://www.justgiving.com/Ann-Beeson
