A YOUNGSTER is in hospital after being knocked over by a car on Tywyn High Street.

The incident took place at approximately 5.40pm on Tuesday evening outside the Spar store, with several members of the public rushing to help and control traffic.

The condition of the boy, believed to be a teenager, is not known.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed: “At 5.43pm [on Tuesday] we received a report of a boy knocked down on Tywyn High Street and conveyed to hospital.

“We do not have an update on the casualty’s condition.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We responded with one emergency ambulance, where a teenager was taken to Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth.”
