I would like to take a few of your column inches to thank the 1,356 electors who cast a vote for me in the Senedd elections earlier this month.

I would also like to thank, along with my colleagues Emily, Tomos and Marc, the 1,750 electors who cast a regional vote for the Green Party - contributing to the 10,545 regional votes cast for the party across the Mid and West Wales electoral region.

This result, along with the other results that showed the Green Party being the only opposition party on the benches of Westminster to gain seats, votes and support across the entire country, shows that the Greens are here to stay as an electoral force.

I would also like to congratulate Elin Jones (Member of the Senedd for Ceredigion) on her re-election and, emphasising what I said at the count in Llandysul, hope that between now and the next elections, where we will be watching to ensure that every policy issued by the Welsh Government is there to make sure that Wales builds back greener with a commitment to reduce to net zero as soon as is possible.

I hope the policy disagreements we are bound to have are conducted in a friendly and business like manner and that any antagonism we have towards each other’s policies are left at the door so that when we meet each other in the towns that make up this county we ask after each other’s health and those of our friends and families.
