Madam,

While in the check-out at Lidl, I had a sudden and painful spasm in my back that knocked me for six. I’d like to extend my deep thanks and best wishes to the people who came to my aid (and not just by tolerating my holding up the queue on a busy day). Thank you to the staff at Lidl for their understanding and for getting me a chair.

And thank you especially to Sarah and your wonderful husband and children, for giving me a lift and toting my groceries when I could barely stand upright. I hope you all have an outstanding Christmas and year to come.
