Madam,

The Aberystwyth branch of the Royal British Legion wishes to sincerely thank the people of Aberystwyth for their generous support for the Poppy Appeal.

Their support, together with those who turned out to sell poppies in places all over town, has seen some £26,000 raised. This is a tremendous response by the public to the needs of both the exservice community and those in some cases still serving.

All the money raised is used for the welfare of members of the Armed Forces Family and is greatly appreciated. Some of the causes helped by the Poppy Appeal are Blind Veterans UK, help in receiving War Pensions, training for a new career when leaving the armed forces, family breaks and many other schemes.

Many people in Ceredigion have been helped by the “Legion” and this has been possible due to the support given to the Poppy Appeal.
