Madam,

I would like to take the opportunity, through your paper, to thank everyone for their support, both vocal and through your letters page, following my recent PIP tribunal decision.

I am restarting the whole process by requesting a re-assessment. Hopefully, this will be looked on more favourably. Whilst I am trying to be positive about the outcome I am also bracing myself for their decision.

I would also like to thank friends and family for their unwavering support without which I would be in an even darker place than I am now. Angela and Jenny deserve special mention for “rescuing” me when I was stuck in town. And finally I have to thank my dog, Gibbs, whose unconditional love and cuddles have been worth their weight in gold.

He hasn’t complained about not being able to go out and he’s been there to lick away my tears.
