Women from across Mid Wales will be celebrating ’V-Day’ this weekend with two performances of The Vagina Monologues.
Performances of the popular Eve Ensler play will be held in Aberystwyth and Tywyn this weekend to coincide with International Women’s Day, which is on 8 March.
The play also aims to highlight V-day, which is a global movement dedicated to end violence against all women and girls.
All ticket sales from the two performances will be donated to New Pathways in Aberystwyth, a rape crisis centre.
The shows are directed by Bethan Dear, a Machynlleth-based artist.
She said: "This is an important show for everyone; it is funny, serious, challenging and uplifting - I encourage everyone to come along, support this show and the local women who are performing.
"Even though many woman have never been on stage before the standard is really high "
The first performance will take place at the Magic Lantern in Tywyn at 8.30pm on Saturday, 7 March, followed by a performance at Ceredigion Museum, Aberystwyth on Sunday, 8 March from 7pm.
