THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised in memory of a ‘one-of-a-kind’ young mum-of-three who died earlier this year.

Catrin Haf Williams Ellis was only 35 when she died of lung cancer in April, passing away peacefully in the presence of her family in Bala.

After receiving “truly amazing” treatment at Enfys Ward, Glan Clwyd Hospital, she lost her battle after 18 months and left behind her three sons Daniel, Ben and Trystan, her husband Gareth, her siblings Debbie and Alan, and father Geoff.

The death of the popular mother rocked the community and several fund-raisers have been held in her memory.

£1,200 has been raised by friends and family to buy a memorial bench on Llandudno Promenade and the family has already donated £2,000 to the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

In the community’s latest act of generosity, Bala Junior Football Club have recently presented a cheque of £363.43 to the Enfys Ward, in memory of Catrin, whose sons have all been involved with the club.

In tribute, Catrin’s father Geoff said that “there will never be another one like her”.

“It’s always the good that die young,” he added.

Catrin’s family as a whole was grateful for the levels of support from everybody.
