Thank you to Hugh Roberts for these fantastic photographs.
Local historian Huw has a fantastic archive of images, which can be seen at www.flickr.com/photos/abermaw/ such as these, which offer a wonderful insight in to the past.
We often challenge Timewatch readers to put names to faces, and we’d like to do that for the first photograph, which shows Barmouth Male Voice Choir in 1956.
Can you name the people in the picture? Are you one of the people in the picture?
If you have any information about the image, please write to Timewatch at the usual address.
Look further back through Hugh’s archive and you will come across this picture from 1912.
It’s a Barmouth fire appliance, complete with firemen, but can you name them?
Our third photograph from Hugh’s collection is this image (right).
“It was taken in 1893 and shows South Barmouth and the town,” said Hugh.
“Fairbourne was called South Barmouth at this time.”
If you can name the people in the pictures, or if you have any information to share about them, please get in touch.
And if you have some stories of your own to share, or any photographs from the past, please write to us or email [email protected].
