A KIND-HEARTED Aberystwyth man has smashed his target to raise £500 for charity by cutting his hair.
Graeme Lane was asked to cut his long hair in order to take part in the recent commemoration of the Somme, which saw locals dress as soldiers and parade through the town.
The 45-year-old decided to use the necessary hair cut to raise the money for the children’s cancer charity Latch and also donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust.
The deed was done at Mid Mad at Aberystwyth Arts Centre, during half-time of the Wales football match.
Prior to the headshave, Graeme had raised over £250 and that has since risen to a fantastic £548.72.
Thanking those who helped him, Graeme said: “A massive thanks to everyone who contributed. A total of £70.72 was raised on the day. Thanks to Josh from Demon Barbers who kindly cut my hair, and to the Arts Centre for allowing me to cut it there.
“A final big thanks to all those who have donated - family, friends, colleagues and complete strangers - you really have truly shown me how fantastic human beings can be.”
