A SKILLED photographer has enjoyed excellent exposure after winning international acclaim for his work.

Tim Wilde, of Wilde Photography, has gained widespread recognition by achieving two significant accolades with the Guild of Professional Photographers for his local landscape images of Tywyn.

The Guild of Photographers is the highly-regarded international photographic body whose members are dedicated to enhancing their skills in the art, craft and profession of photography.

It runs an Image of the Month competition, and received around 13,000 entries from across the globe in 2017.

Each image is scored, and the scores from the year are then totalled to determine who wins the Guild’s Photographer of the Year awards.

Tim was honoured to win the guild’s ‘Photographers Bar Award’ for demonstrating an exceptional level of skill and consistency over the competition year.

Tim was also finished a commendable 12th in the ‘Photo of the Year’ open category, a ‘remarkable achievement when one considers the number and standard of the international entries’ according to organisers.

The photographer was presented to him at the Guild’s Awards night at Crewe Hall on 3 February.

Tim, who is based in Tywyn, said he was “delighted and proud” to be recognised.

Steve Thirsk, director of the Guild, said: “I am both proud and delighted that Tim has achieved this recognition after 12 months of submitting the highest quality images.

“The Guild has very demanding standards when judging photographic competitions.

“The judging is undertaken by a panel of internationally recognised experts from a variety of photographic backgrounds, so Tim, quite rightly should be delighted with his extraordinary achievement.”
