THE roof of a converted campervan has been ripped off as its driver attempted to go under a low bridge in Tywyn.
This afternoon, at the start of the bank holiday weekend, a collision occurred on Bryn Awel Square when the campervan collided with the railway bridge, tearing the top off the vehicle.
Police confirmed the incident and said the road was blocked for an hour as the debris was cleared.
Former town councillor and Tywyn resident Mark Kendall was nearby when the incident occurred.
“If you drive a vehicle like this you should really know how tall it is,” he said.
No-one was hurt in the incident.
