BUSINESSES could be boosted by a wi-fi system which is being planned for the centre of Cardigan.
Menter Aberteifi wrote to the town council to ask for support for the scheme, which could provide information to tourists and help assess shopping habits.
The request was discussed at the last town council meeting.
Mayor Clive Davies said similar systems were already in use across the border in Pembrokeshire and Powys.
He said: “It’s very powerful for businesses in town. They will be able to get information about things such as the busiest times in town. It can be used for feedback for shopkeepers.
“It’s been in London for some years, but it’s now available for smaller towns.”
