An annual tractor run in Llanidloes has raised over £1,000 for Bronglais Hospital.

Despite the rain, 80 tractor drivers turned up to take part in the Llanidloes Tractor Run on Sunday, 16 June, determined to raise money for Bronglais Hospital’s Chemotherapy Unit.

Starting from the old BSK site, the convey of 78 tractors – led by John Baker in a Ford 7000 – paraded their way up the main street of the historic market town before turning up Bryn Du Road to climb out of the town.

Then a left was taken towards Llidiartywaun as far as Talcen crossroads where the tractors turned right and then left to pick up the Tylwch road.

The tractors went on through Sychnant, Nantgwyn and Pant-y-dwr to St Harmon where a left was negotiated now heading for Nantmel before a left was taken to pick up the Abbey-Cwm-Hir road over the Abbey Hill. Here on the hairpin corner Clive Pugh suffered a puncture but which was soon sorted out.

Once on the outskirts of the village the tractors turned left for Bwlch y Sarnau and headed down to take the Llidiartywaun road and to the tea stop at the home of John Baker.

Here the raffle was drawn and it was announced that £1,030 had been raised for the chemotherapy unit at Bronglais Hospital.
