EASTER Monday’s Dolgran Tractor Run at Pencader organised by Tom Lewis proved as popular as ever despite drivers facing atrocious weather conditions, raising a mammoth £3,660 towards the Ceredigion Branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
A total of 35 tractors took to the road, and numerous donations were received from other drivers who attended the start to see the tractors leave, but did not have suitable tractors to take part in the heavy rain.
A small auction was held at the start and raffle tickets were sold during the day which further bumped up the takings.
Numerous donations were received prior to the day, one from as far a Hong Kong which proves how popular this run has become.
Tom Lewis said a big thank you to everyone who contributed towards the run, being those who sponsored the run, donated money, the raffle prizes given, those who bought raffle tickets, and especially the tractor drivers (some without tractor cabs), who braved the heavy rain for 15 miles, all the way from Dolgran.
They called in at the National Woollen Museum where a very interesting talk was given as well as visiting the Red Lion in Drefach Felindre where a first-class beef dinner was served to finish off a very successful day.
