A CAT owner has thanked the people of Barmouth for helping return her beloved pet after he escaped from his carrier whilst on his way to the vets.

Pensioner, Carol Darvill, was taking 16-year-old Little Puss (seen right) to Williams Veterinary Surgery in Barmouth earlier this month after a bite on his leg had become infected.

The pair were about to board the train in Barmouth when Little Puss took a chance to escape his carrier.

Carol said: “The driver and conductor of the train tried to catch him, delaying departure for about 10 minutes, but he ran through the railings towards the Iceland store. I spent several hours searching for my cat with the help of many kind people in the town. News of this was put onto the Facebook Barmouth networking group by a young lady who witnessed his ‘escape’. I want to say a huge thank you to all those who helped to try to find him.”

Eventually, once traffic had lessened and with the help of a box of Go-Cat, she heard a little meow near railings by the railway station.

Carol added: “I eventually caught him at 5.20pm and we then waited for the 7pm train back to Fairbourne.”
