An engineering train had to come to a stop this week when a family of seven and two dogs were found trespassing on the line.

The Talyllyn Railway has issued a warning to people not to trespass following the incident.

A spokesperson for the Tywyn-based tourist attraction said: “Unfortunately one of our regular engineering trains had to come to a stop when a family of seven people and their two dogs were found walking along the railway line this week.

“While we may not be operating steam trains just yet, we operate engineering trains at intermittent times.

“Trespassing on the railway is against the law and puts anyone doing so in danger.

“We are working with local police and the British Transport police to ensure everyone is aware of the risks and any actions necessary are taken. Please support us in keeping everyone safe by not trespassing on the railway.”
