A MISSING moggy who hitched a ride on a delivery van before Christmas has been reunited with its owner.The South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team was influential in reunit-ing the absent black cat with its grate-ful owner in Trawsfynydd.The cat went missing just before Christmas and had made its way to Penrhyndeudraeth, more than 10 miles away.It is thought the cat had somehow managed to cover the distance after jumping into a delivery van.Penrhyndeudraeth resident Sioned Roberts found the cat had followed her home one night and took to social media to find the lost cat’s home.After posting on ‘Hen Luniau a Hanes Penrhyndeudraeth’ Facebook page and receiving several responses, two team members contacted the cat’s owner and returned the missing pet to its rightful.Mountain rescue team member Merfyn Jones was bemused by the case.He said: “It was certainly one of the strangest search and rescue missions we’ve been involved with!“We’d like to thank Sioned for her help and we’re pleased to have been of service.”
