FORE Sul, 17 Ionawr croesawyd pawb i Oedfa Deuluol gyntaf y flwyddyn gan y Parch Carwyn Arthur. Yn anffodus oherwydd salwch ac amgylchiadau eraill, dim ond tri phlentyn oedd yn bresennol a diolchwyd iddynt am eu presenoldeb gan y Bugail.Cafwyd hanes am Bartimeus y dyn dall, a sut wnaeth yr Iesu ei iachau, a rhoi ei olwg yn ôl iddo. Rhoddwyd yr emynau allan gan Lois Davies, Dafydd Bennett, Elizabeth Jones a Delyth Rees. Offrymwyd gweddi gan Gethin Bennett, a chafwyd eitem swynol o’r Detho-liad gan y plant i gyfeiliant Catherine Hughes.Casglwyd gan Dafydd Bennett a Lois Davies, cyfeiliwyd gan Llinos James a chyhoeddwyd gan Catherine Hughes.

English Methodist Church

THE SERVICE on Sunday, 24 January will be led by David Lowe in the Memorial Hall, beginning at 2.30pm. The service next week (31 January), will be held in Bryntirion Centre at 2pm.

Walking Club

THE NEXT walk is scheduled for 13 February and is called Ystwyth Miners’ Meander with leader is Lucy Swannell (01974 261789). Starting from Pontrhydygroes, this is a circular walk through mixed woodland and open uplands. After crossing the Miner’s Bridge, the route begins by following the riverside past the remains of the old Ystwyth Valley lead mines before climbing steadily through forestry, then skirts the ancient hill fort of Castell Grogwynion to reach the walk’s high point at Brynafan where impressive views of the surrounding uplands await. From here, it’s downhill through fields and Coed Maen Arthur back to Pontrhydygroes. The walk is graded a grade C hard walk which should last around 5½ hours and is over nine miles.The meeting point is at 9.30am outside Y Talbot or 10am at the Water Wheel in Pontrhydygroes.
