THE next walk is scheduled for 11 June and is called Three Peaks in Wales: Snowdon, Pumlumon and Charn Fawr. The leaders are Dafydd Wyn Morgan (01974 298150) and Martin Pugh (01974 298989).A unique three-peak challenge awaits in Wales’ Year of Adventure 2016. The group will climb the highest national, regional and local peaks in one long day of walking. An early start from Tregaron will see them reach Snowdon for the first peak.Leaving swiftly afterwards, the adventure continues as they travel through mid Wales to climb Pumlumon. Saving enough energy, they then head home to Tregaron before completing the final peak.Food will follow. There is a cost of £12.50 per person towards the bus. There is an optional bar meal in Tregaron after the final peak. The walk is graded a grade D (very hard) walk which should last approximately 18 hours and is over a distance of 18 miles with an ascent of 4500 feet. The meeting point is at 5am outside Y Talbot. If you would like to become a member of Clwb Cerdded Tregaron Walking Club, then call Dafydd, the secretary, on 01974 298 150 for further details.WITHE programme for the April meeting had to be changed at short notice as the speaker was not too well. However, the branch is hoping to include a talk on beekeeping later in the year. Fortunately, they had a copy of the DVD Digital Stories, produced by the Ceredigion Federation of Women’s Institutes to celebrate the centenary of the organisation in 2015. It was very well produced and told the stories of many members and their involvement with the WI over the years. It was greatly enjoyed by the many members who attended the meeting. The raffle, donated by Ann Jones was won by Catherine Evans and the competition by Julien Dixon. The hostess in charge, Stephanie Tebbutt, was assisted by Ann Davies who stood in at short notice. The next meeting will be held in the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, 8 June, starting at 7.30pm. Lynnie, of the Pantglas Centre in Llanddewi Brefi, will introduce members to gentle yoga. For more information call Julia Harvey on 298827.
