THE next walk is scheduled for 10 September and is called ‘Snowdon – Summit, sunset and silence on Snowdon’. The leader is Dafydd Wyn Morgan (01974 298150). Changing to a Saturday evening’s walk (with an option to stay overnight), this annual ascent of Snowdon will be a breath of fresh air compared to recent morning ascents. Making the most of a warm autumn’s evening we’ll take in a quiet summit and watch the sunset over Wales, Ireland and England. With head torches on, we’ll head back down carefully. Sunset at 7.36pm. The walk is graded a grade C hard walk which should last approximately six hours and is over a distance of nine miles with an ascent of 970ft.The meeting point is at 1.15pm outside Y Talbot and there is only room for a maximum of 15 people.
