TRIBUTES have been paid to a Penrhyncoch man whose body was discovered at Nant y Moch reservoir on Saturday.
The body of 62-year-old Arwyn Williams was found at 11.30am and a police investigation has begun. Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Mr Williams, who lived in Penrhyncoch, was a well-known rallying enthusiast, who worked for the Cambrian News and Cambrian Printers in Aberystwyth for over three decades.
Mr Williams started at the Cambrian News in 1969 and completed his apprenticeship in 1974, worked for the Cambrian News until 1993 when the two companies split and worked for Cambrian Printers until October 2005, just over 34 years in total for the same owners.
Dai Jones from Cambrian Printers said that Mr Williams’ death was a “shock” and that he would be “greatly missed”.
“I remember him starting as a 16-year-old compositor, later becoming a monotype typesetter and then moving on with the coming of the digital revolution,” Mr Jones said.
“He was a very efficient, always reliable, loyal and a conscientious worker who communicated well with his fellow workers and had a good sense of humour.
“I and others used to see him regularly around town and always had a chat about the old days.
“Everyone who remembers him is very shocked that he has passed away. He will be greatly missed.”
