A young man who died in a crash on the Llyn Peninsula has been described as “an extremely loved son, husband, father and brother”.

Gryffudd Rhun Jones, who was 27 and from Brynaerau, Rhosfawr, was involved in a collision between Llithfaen and Pentreuchaf in the early hours of Sunday, 2 February.

North Wales Police confirmed Mr Jones’ identity on Monday.

A spokesperson said: “Police have now confirmed the identity of the young man tragically killed in a road traffic collision during the early hours of Sunday morning between Llithfaen and Pentreuchaf.

“Gryffudd Rhun Jones was 27 years old and came from Brynaerau, Rhosfawr.

“His family have issued the following statement: ‘He was an extremely loved son, husband, father and brother and will be greatly missed by all’.”

Local councillor Peter Read paid tribute, saying: “It is a shame such a young life taken far too soon.

“The whole family are highly thought of in the community and my condolences go out to his wife, children and extended family.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened shortly before 1.50am on Sunday, 2 February, and involved a black Skoda Octavia. Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Emergency services attended but Mr Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for six hours after the crash.
