War Memorial Trust Awards have been made to 10 individuals and groups in the Aberystwyth area.

Recipients included sportspeople, musical students and young people wanting to volunteer in Africa.

Groups included Aberystwyth Air Cadets, St John Ambulance, Aberystwyth Silver Band, the 2nd Penparcau Scout Group and the Yosano Japan Friendship Association.

Secretary/treasurer Anthony Evans said in total, the trust has handed over £10,000 to worthy projects.
