A TWELVE-YEAR-OLD student violinist from Aberystwyth has been sharing the stage with internationally renowned musicians in London.

Soffia Nicholas was selected to represent MusicFest International Summer School at a fund-raising event in London to launch the 2016 programme of MusicFest courses.

Soffia shared the stage with internationally renowned musicians Tom Poster and Guy Johnston at the home of Sir Vernon and Lady Ellis.

Tom Poster is internationally recognised as a pianist of outstanding artistry and versatility, equally in demand as soloist and chamber musician who recently signed to Edition Classics for a series of solo albums.

Guy Johnston is one of the most exciting and versatile British cellists of his generation.

Soffia has been playing violin since she was seven and has played violin with her County Senior orchestra and the south-west Wales regional orchestra. She is a member of the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain.

Soffia attended the MusicFest’s violin course at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in 2015 where she also played with the Orion Orchestra as part of their final spectacular concert.
