Madam,

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Love Tywyn group for two exceptional, and I must add much-appreciated, events that have taken place in the town in the last few weeks.

Firstly the Party in the Park, which took place on the children’s playground on Saturday, 30 July, proved to be an over-whelming success and was inundated with visitors the whole of the day, both adults and infants and both local and holidaymakers, which shows a positive response from the public.

This wasn’t the first and let’s hope it now becomes an annual event.

The second event was the Promfest, held on Tywyn promenade on Sunday, 28 August, which was also a resounding success, bringing many hundreds of visitors not seen in many a year and which concluded with a wonderful firework display, enjoyed by all ages. I think we all look forward to next year’s event.

These successes are due to the hard work of a few volunteers, who have provided such events during the past few years, events that are getting better each year, and I would like to pay tribute to them on behalf of the people of Tywyn who owe them so much.
