Madam,

I was deeply upset to read about the harassment of Meurig Lloyd in the Cambrian News (South edition, July).

Despite the worry his family has suffered as a result, I want to thank him for resuming his highly professional job cutting the public footpaths.

It is now a great pleasure to walk them. Will we see them so well cut again?

I hope the barbed wire and collapsing fences on the footpaths and the rubbish by the river can be removed soon too.

I also hope the community council now thanks Mr Lloyd publicly for his hard work, finally pays him for work done, and apologises for not helping him sooner with the harassment his family has suffered.

I also very much agree with the letter of 18 July about Llanon being the Wild West.

A lot of residents here think it is terrible that two boys and their dogs were put in serious danger over two months ago, and what they must have gone through since then.

It must be very hard for anyone to imagine what an absolute nightmare it must be for the parents to have their children put in such danger. I am glad the incident was recorded on video phone and dashcam and given to the police.

I also hope the community council has condemned those involved and asked about the welfare of the two boys and given them their full support over the last two months, as other residents here have done.

Once the police have finished their enquiries we will all feel much safer in Llanon, and I hope this situation can come to an end for everyone including the Lloyd family, the two boys and the village.

Yours etc, Name and address supplied.
