Garden club

FORTY-eight garden club members and friends boarded the coach in Tywyn for the annual garden club outing on Tuesday, 14 June, at 9am.

The destination was Bridgmere Garden World, in time for coffee and lunch, followed by a visit to the Dorothy Clive Garden.

The morning was dry, with sunshine midday until about 3.30pm, but then the thunder and lightning arrived with torrential rain which virtually spoiled the afternoon visit.

It was wet for the rest of the day and the drive back. It was a long way to travel and then get soaked, which was very disappointing for members.

The club does not meet again in Tywyn Baptist Church until Tuesday, 11 October.

In the meantime, club members will begin preparation for the Floral Train at 10.30am on Tuesday, 9 August, when one of the Talyllyn railway engines and carriages will be decorated with flowers by garden club members.

It will depart Wharf station at 7.30pm to arrive at Abergynwolyn station at 7.30pm, where Côr Meibion Dysynni (Dysynni Male Voice choir) will pro-vide entertainment.

Tickets can be bought at Tywyn wharf Station, and are available now up until departure.

Hearing aid volunteer service

THE next session of this service will be held on Thursday, 4 August, at Tywyn Baptist Church, 10am until noon.

If you feel your hearing aid could do with a service, re-tubing or replacement batteries, do come along.

Remember your hearing aid does need re-tubing every three to six months, as the tube deteriorates after that time and your hearing aid will lose efficiency.
