CONCERNS have been raised about dredging being carried out in Aberystwyth harbour this week.
Diggers have been scraping up tons of sludge from the harbour bed near the entrance to the Gap towards the end of the River Rheidol.
And the mud has then been laid out in a line by dumper trucks on South Beach.
One beachgoer posted on Facebook: "Please avoid walking your dogs on South Beach. Whatever they dredged out of the harbour yesterday and dumped on the beach has an oily substance in it. Humans should probably avoid it too judging by my wellies. Disgraceful dumping on the beach!"
The council has been asked to respond.
