RESTRICTIONS on visiting patients at Bronglais Hospital have been lifted after six days.
Hywel Dda Health Board had asked people not to visit patients at the hospital following an outbreak of the norovirus which also saw the temporary closure of two Bronglais wards.
Meurig and Ceredig wards had been closed as a result of the outbreak, but all areas were reopened by Thursday evening.
A statement from the health board released on Thursday, said: “Visitor restrictions in Bronglais Hospital are to be lifted later today following an improvement in the recent norovirus infection outbreak.
“The affected wards have reopened, with the exception of Ceredig ward (west) which is due to reopen this evening.
“We continue to advise any member of the public who has felt unwell to kindly avoid visiting the hospital.
“We wish to thank the local community for their cooperation during this challenging time.”
