Madam,

It was heartening to hear that Aberystwyth Town Council is intending to spend over £5,000 on Plascrug playground and a further £10,000 on the playground in Penparcau. I was also happy to know that a slide will be installed in the park on North Road, alongside the maze.

I think it’s vital that children have areas to play near to where they live. Currently children in the northern part of town have to cross a busy road to visit a playground.

My nine-year-old brother and his friends would really benefit from having good playground facilities close by. I would love to see increased provision for children and young people’s facilities in Aberystwyth, including playground equipment for the North Ward.
