Madam,
In his very informative history of the Welsh Plant Breeding Station, John Valentine wrote that Edward Leslie Breese took over the grass breeding project. Unfortunately no date is given.
In 1947 I served in Germany under a Lieutenant E L Breese of Tregynon. I don’t know what his initials stood for. We all addressed him as “Sir”. I met him twice in Machynlleth after the war, the second time in 1960 when he accompanied a work colleague in to take a driving test. He was obviously working very locally. I would be interested to know if this was the same man.
Yours etc, Bruce McCay, Cefn Pennal, Machynlleth.
