Madam,

I see yet another bank is closing its branch in Bala and various cash points closing. When will the banks realise that the public is being let down because of this. People want accessability and convienient ways of getting their money out of the bank to spend. We in Harlech have to travel 10 miles to Porthmadog to get to a bank. We have a cash machine at the moment. It was put there after an outcry from locals. How long it will be there we don’t know.

How can these measures of closing banks help. What about tourists, for instance, or anyone who realises they urgently need money. The banks at the moment are only helping theirselves. I would predict that these scenarios will soon see a re-evalution. Well we live in hope that the banks will suddenly put the public interest first and change the wrongs to rights, allowing us to get to our money in the quickest way possible.

Yours etc,

Jean Miles, Harlech.
