Madam,
Ceredigion County Council seems to have spent much of the summer reflecting on any offers they have received for the former Bodlondeb Residential Home following their complete disregard for public opinion on this matter.
It was left to the All-Party Save Bodlondeb Group to make the case for a local-authority-run care home in Aberystwyth. Alas, the leadership of the county council had their day.
Roll on to November 2018. If the rumour mill is to be believed, then it is understood that the preferred bid for Bodlondeb currently provides residential care in the Aberystwyth area.
Can I, through your pages, as a council-tax-payer in this county, like thousands of others, and in the interest of public accountability, respectfully ask our council to inform us of the successful bid price.
Some of us have long memories, and do not wish this issue to be swept under the carpet in the same way that bandstand was some years ago.
Yours etc,
Mark Williams, Chair, North Ceredigion Forum for Better Elderly Care.
