I am writing as a follow-up to your article ‘Dozens object to 40 new homes plan’ in 25 February edition of the Cambrian News.

Firstly, the total amount of houses proposed for this site is actually 77.

Secondly and most importantly is the loss of green space for the community. The field has been, and continues to be, used by residents of all ages on a daily basis. Until recently, the Waun Shield football tournament was held here annually and the goalposts remain to this day.

More recently, the area is used for dog walking, sports, playing hide and seek, picnicking and kite flying. All activities which need to be encouraged to maintain good physical and mental health in our community, especially during these difficult times.

As a community, we have objected heavily to the loss of our green space and continue to do so. If anyone is interested in supporting our objections, please follow us on Facebook: Grwp Cynllunio Waunfawr/LlanbadarnPlanning Group
