Madam,

Following the recent killing of a Thames Valley police officer in the line of duty and other recent violent but non-fatal attacks on North Wales Police officers and others, is it not time for mandatory minimum sentences of, say, five years to be imposed for attacks on emergency workers? And for the murder of emergency workers should not capital punishment be reimposed?
